The Books

There are three projects I will be recreating using Scribus.

The first is Lace and Steel, a novel Romantic Europe era RPG by the inexplicable Paul Kidd. The second edition of this game has interesting distinction of being the first RPG printed by Lightning Print before they changed their name to Lightning Source.  It was an interesting time to be doing things their process wasn’t ready for. They didn’t even take PDF yet, you had to install the printer definitions for their printers and send them raw postscript. In order to consider this rebuild complete it must generate a printworthy via POD PDF.

The second and third products are RPG’s by David Van Domelen, a somewhat well-known member of the online comics and Transformers fandom community. Both these projects were based on the Freestyle Roleplay systems from the last print incarnation of Space Gamer/Fantasy Gamer. Modern Knights is a neat take on Super Heroes and shares some elements with Dave’s ASH universe fiction. The other is RoboMACs, a just about anything Giant Roboty game complete with setting that is a slightly different take on the Hmuan Resistance vs the Evil Robot Overlords.  Both of these books have only been available in PDF so far. In order to consider these rebuilt saleworthy PDFs complete with hyperlinks as well as be printworthy at a POD service bureau.

Obviously Scribus won’t be the only tool I used to generate these products but my initial thought was to break up the issues I have with different tools to build the books into their own distinct blogs.  That might bear out to be a lot nutty. Or maybe I’ll planet them all together I dunno.
