With some work and fiddliness, I have finally made my first miniproject goalpost complete.
It’s a simple one-page, character dossier of one of the sample characters in the book.

Producing this took a combination of Inkscape, the pstools suite, The Gimp, and Scribus.
The biggest problem I faced with this was something that I don’t imagine should have been. The embedded source image was originally a PNG and a large part of the gigantic PDFs I was not thrilled with earlier. The current output is still insanely large and I’ll play some games with that later, but coming down from multiple gig to under a half is an improvement. I went back to my source EPS, rextracted and distilled until I had a good, usable SVG. Once that was done it was mostly a matter of hand tightening the faces up a smidge. Unsurprising considering I was still sorting out my template.
